Self-definition and communication - How to communicate your needs and boundaries as a disabled person

What does it mean to be disabled by society, and to live as a disabled person in this world? And what should we do when other people ignore our requests and needs, and don’t think about our inclusion? Come along to discuss how to get your access requirements across, what it means to self-define as a disabled person, and talk about how to solve conflicts with friends, family members, employers, personal assistants, and strangers. We will be learning skills in non-violent communication as one way to approach conflict situations, and to advocate for ourselves in conversations about access and inclusion.

Please let us know about your access requirements, and whether you require a BSL interpreter, a PA, or a taxi ride to and from the venue (for Manchester city residents). J
