Architecture student seeks views on building accessibility in Manchester

What annoys you about our buildings?

Architecture student Thomas Kirby is wanting to know about some of the day to day issues that disabled people have using buildings in Manchester to inform his thesis project. He is planning to satirise some of these issues in an inclusive comedy club design in Salford and would also love your feedback on his design.

Please contact him at thomaskirby26 [at] gmail.com if you are interested.

Kintsugi Clothing seeks volunteers for survey and feedback

From Kintsugi Clothing:

Hello,

I'm writing on behalf of Kintsugi Clothing, a pre-launch fashion brand working to create accessible clothing that is both fashionable and inclusive.

We asked the disabled community what kinds of things they wish designers would think about when designing clothes and were overwhelmed with the response. Obviously, there are so many different types of impairments but some share the same requirements when it comes to clothes - particularly when it comes to ease of dressing.

Liz Neville (Hallam)

It is with great sadness we share with you the news that Liz Neville (married name Hallam) , a former GMCDP worker and long time member , died in November 2017.

Liz worked for GMCDP in the 1990s before going onto Manchester City Council supporting disabled people with their direct payments / individual budget packages.

Liz was a warm hearted, generous, free spirit who loved people, motorbiking and life. Her smile was broad and her heart big. Her death has been a great loss to her Ex Husband, her family and her friends.
